The PMU wishes all of you a very prosperous year 2022, on professional and personal aspects!
In 2022, we are entering the last project period for RTBfoods. We hope that this coming year will allow us to collectively meet the ambitions that were ours when setting up this large-scale project for the RTB breeding community and value chain stakeholders, with the support of the BMG Foundation.
In each breeding program, we will do our best to optimize and implement the new methods developed these last years, for the evaluation of the different RTBs in order to detect the genotypes with the highest potential for adoption.
The last year has been rich in achievements: delivery of WP1 food product profiles with key quality characteristics identified for each crop, completion of promising proofs of concept, in particular on the role of the biochemical compounds raw materials in the processing and cooking ability of processed and ready-to-eat RTB products.
These successes would not be possible without the incredible interdisciplinary collaboration taking place within RTBfoods. These collective efforts, between our teams & institutes, and across countries, will certainly allow us to achieve our major project objectives by the end of 2022.
A huge thank to all of you, for your professionalism and your commitment in improving RTB breeding for better variety adoption.
